Associate of Science in Radiography Degree

Earn your ASR degree and begin a career in radiography

The five-semester Associate of Science in Radiography (ASR) degree program combines classroom instruction with extensive clinical experience into a two-year schedule. Graduates of the ASR program complete the requirements necessary to take a certification exam through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to become a Registered Radiologic Technologist. Students in the ASR program also have the opportunity to be dually enrolled in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program.

Southwest Baptist University-Springfield Campus provides conveniently scheduled general education and science prerequisite coursework for all its degree programs, as well as a wide array of courses for adult learners who desire to begin or continue their education. General education coursework is offered in both traditional classroom settings and through online courses. Students in general education courses benefit from experienced professors in small classes.

The Radiography degree is offered through SBU's College of Health Professions.

Admissions Requirements

Complete the College of Health Professions admissions process to be considered for admission to SBU's Associate of Science in Radiography program. You must have a cumulative GPA of 2.7+ and a prerequisite GPA of 2.7+ to meet program admission criteria.

The following prerequisite courses are required for admission to the ASR program:

  • English Composition I
  • General Psychology
  • College Algebra
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I
  • Human Anatomy & Physiology II
  • Chemistry for Allied Health

Course Transfer Equivalency

Southwest Baptist University maintains a current database of course transfer equivalencies from hundreds of accredited colleges and universities. Students are welcome to search for and find course equivalents for prerequisite courses and program requirements within the College of Health Professions degree programs.
